4.0 out of 5 stars Using it is a process!, January 3, 2012
This review is from: Elite Fitness Deluxe Manual Treadmill (Sports)
Similar to riding a bicycle, using a recipe for the first time or driving a "new" vehicle you are unfamiliar with, this manual treadmill must be approached in much the same way. I would offer that it is designed more for a "walker" exercise unit than for running. Give it a chance if you purchase one.

Once you start walking very fast the belt would sort of stick and then you would have to slow up your stride to free the belt and it noisy " wonder why they called it the "Elite I guess cause it got two flywheels instead of the usual one, that why I purchased it I thought it would be a better unit with two flywheels but it wasn,t that why I sent it back if the belt wouldn,t of kept sticking I would of kept it and ignored the noise.

Just brought this baby home from a sporting good store, and I love it already. It's really lightweight as far as treadmills go- it folds up and I was able to fit it in the back seat of my small sedan, and unload it and carry it inside, including up several steps, without help. It has little wheels that make it easy to transport when folded up.

I set it up by my standing desk (which is basically two small tables stacked on top of each other), and it allows me to walk as I work. I work from home on my computer so this treadmill is so perfect, cuts out hours of unhealthy sitting.

Initially I thought I had to keep my arms on the handrails in order to control my speed, since there are only two incline settings and both are two steep to walk at a slow pace with no hands. Then I just put two phone books under the back end, adjusting until I found a perfect, slow, steady pace. I'm walking on it as I type this. It isn't a strenuous workout, just a healthy level of motion... Read more
